With the implementation of the national western development strategy, southwest China’s economic development continues to increase rapidly and mainly manufacturing industry occupies the dominant position in the national economy. National policy of "One Belt and One Road" has been advanced deeply  while the economy in the southwest has been injected with more powerful motivation. Taking Chongqing southwest center city - Chengdu as the core, economic vitality and manufacturing advantages obviously  -  Chongqing is the only municipality directly under the central government and the national central city in western China, is an important modern manufacturing base and national high-tech industry base, is also the economic and financial center of the upper Yangtze river region, with radiation to Xian, Luoyang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guiyang, Nanning, Liuzhou as the southwest major important cities. Based on the geographical location and industry advantage, Chongqing (China) International Surface Finishing, Electroplating and Coating Exhibition 2018 will return to Chongqing once again on 2018, and will be held in Chongqing International Expo Center, May 9-11,2018.

Chongqing, as one of the country areas of the old industrial base with manufacturing industry as the core, has always been the "main engine" of economic growth in Chongqing. In 2016, according to data, Chongqing gross industrial output value reached 2.6 trillion yuan, and among this, the industrial cluster of cars and electronics in Chongqing industrial growth contribution rate reached 55%. At the same time, the electronic core parts, robot and intelligent equipment, new materials, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles and smart cars, MDI and chemical new materials, such as shale gas, biological medicine, environmental protection top ten emerging manufacturing industry cluster gathered quickly, and formed a multipoint support pattern by the electronic, automobile two-wheel driven, and other industries. With convenient and efficient logistics system construction, Chongqing converged global production factors more effectively, and improved the level of manufacturing industry in Chongqing effectively. During the period of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, Chongqing accumulated investment of more than 900 billion yuan, with the foreign investment for four consecutive years reaching $4 billion US dollars, and the top global 500 industrial enterprises reaching 191 units, accounting for 83% of the top 500 enterprises in Chongqing. According to the Twelfth Five-Year Plan to 2020, Chongqing manufacturing scale has achieved a new level, with gross industrial output value reaching 4 trillion yuan, and the added value of strategic emerging industries has accounted for up to 30% of the total industrial added value, and is also expected to develop a national important modern manufacturing base in 2025.

Surface Finishing is an important part of industrial manufacturing, as the strengths and weaknesses of the functional and decorative design greatly affect the value of industrial products, and due to the rapid development of the southwest manufacturing industries, the demand for new technology and craft of surface finishing is also growing. Based on the geographical location and industry advantages having made strategic expansion since 2013, SF EXPO is taking turns to hold a year in Chongqing and Guangzhou.

The brand strength and market influence of SF EXPO was again recognized in Chongqing, indicating there is great potential in the Southwest market.

SF EXPO will return to Chongqing once again on May 9-11, 2018, holding a grand event in the Chongqing International Expo Center (Yuelai New Town). The exhibition is jointly organized by China Electroplating Association, China Surface Engineering Association Painting of Branch, Chongqing Surface Engineering Association, Chongqing Surface Engineering Technology Society, Chongqing Painting Industry Association and Wise Exhibition (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. Multiple southwest surface engineering associations will cooperate to build the exhibition including Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi, with multiple-association full support from the Chinese mainland and overseas.

SF EXPO clings to industry demand, guides industry trends and caters to strong momentum for the development of the manufacturing industry in southwest China, all the while adapting to the national west development and the "One Belt and One Road" strategy. The exhibition specially increases the surface finishing intelligent manufacturing area in 2018, as mainly applied to the surface finishing of industrial robots, automation control system and knowledgeable factory overall solutions, etc. Based on intelligent manufacturing systems and solutions in the popularization and application of the surface finishing industry, all this will drive the southwest toward the direction of intelligent manufacturing surface treatment industry.
