Look Out, Cleveland - Here Comes SUR/FIN!

2007 event promises new agenda, new vibe—new attitude

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 9 — Transformation and Growth.  These words reflect the planning and work behind the building excitement of SUR/FIN 2007 that will kick off Aug. 13–16 at the Cleveland Convention Center, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Those anticipating the same-old-SUR/FIN would be advised to raise their level of expectations. What’s noteworthy about this year’s event is it marks the first SUR/FIN show under the banner of the newly formed National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF), the unification of the American Electroplaters’ and Surface Finishers’ Society, National Association of Metal Finishers, and Metal Finishing Suppliers’ Association. What this essentially means for all attendees involved is not only a better-rounded, diverse convention and conference program, but also an enhanced experience heretofore unseen in SUR/FIN’s history.
“SUR/FIN promises to build on the great momentum created over the last two years,” said Barry Lee Cohen, Director of Global Marketing Communications for Enthone Inc., and co-chairman of the SUR/FIN 2007 Steering Committee. Among the key components he cited: a new, refreshed technical program that includes sessions focused on OEM and captive platers, as well as the expansion of exhibitors and attendees to reflect the entire supply chain.
While many aspects of SUR/FIN 2007 will be fresh, organizers will be looking to build on the elements that made last year’s event in Milwaukee successful. That includes expanding the show’s exhibitor base to include OEMs and platers, as well as greater participation from international attendees. And what better venue than Cleveland—a city whose host state (along with Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky) represents part of the largest region for all domestic surface finishers.
If you’re seeking product knowledge, technological solutions and tips to compete in today’s changing marketplace, then come to Cleveland and be a part of this exciting event.
SUR/FIN 2007 is sponsored by the newly created National Association for Surface Finishing (www.nasf.org). At SUR/FIN 2007, you’ll find a technical program that includes sessions focused on OEM and captive platers, as well as the expansion of exhibitors and attendees to reflect the entire supply chain. SUR/FIN 2007’s technical program will occur on Aug. 13–16; the exhibition takes place Aug. 14–15 at the Cleveland Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
