During the month of June 2010, PRI invited Nadcap stakeholders to respond to a survey to evaluate the perceived impact of the program on Nadcap accredited suppliers. 1,151 people responded to the survey: 15.4% of all those contacted. Of these, 206 (17.9%) were involved with Nonconventional Machining & Surface Enhancement (NMSE).

A comparison of the NMSE and total responses is seen on the right side. It indicates that the suppliers involved with NMSE have seen greater benefits from Nadcap accreditation as they have significantly reduced their scrap rates, rework rates and escape rates. 50% have reduced their scrap rates compared with 35% of all respondents; 57% reduced their rework rates compared with 41% of all respondents; and 55% reduced their escape rates compared with 44% of all respondents.

In the same survey, 57% of the NMSE suppliers reported that their sales and/or ability to attract new business has increased, compared with 54% of all respondents to the survey.

One respondent commented: “Pursuit of lean manufacturing principles has been a prime objective across our site for many years... the Nadcap program has lead to increased respect & awareness across the organisation of the supply requirements of these processes.”
