Czech company MEGA-TEC is a producer of complete paint shops, especially electrophoretic coating lines (E-COAT), but also powder, liquid coating lines, or its sub deliveries. As the only European producer of electrophoretic membranes and as only worldwide producer of all types of electrophoretic cells, we can offer you best solution exactly according to your requirements, based on more than 30 years of E-Coat experiences. We offer you complete services including warranty and post-warranty service, line audits and its optimization or intensification.
Cataphoretic painting system is a highly economical and environmentally friendly painting method and one of the most advanced technologies of surface treatment of metal products.
It is used for the protection of mainly steel, but also galvanized and aluminium components, either as the primer or topcoat as the single layer surface finish. Cataphoretic painting system brings significant increase in performance and durability for range of products.The main areas of use include: automotive industry (automobiles, motorcycles and bicycles); agricultural and construction machinery; home appliances (washing machines and refrigerators); radiators, air conditioning, electric apparatus, metal furniture, building elements...

Principle
Painted subject is connected as a cathPainted subject is connected as a cathode in direct-current field of electrolyte (aqueous paint solution) and attracts cations from paint. Electrophoretic cells - EFC (flat, semicular, tubular) are connected as anodes, and they are used to keep an equilibrium concentration in paint bath.
As the thickness of the coating increases, also the layer resistance increases, which results in the formation of a very uniform coating over the entire surface, including the hardly accessible places such as the edges of the corners. The thickness is usually between 15 and 45μm. The exposed coating must be polymerized in curing oven at temperatures between 160 °C and 180 °C.

Basic conditions for product
- must be conductive;
- must be submersible; and
- withstand temperature around 180 °C.

Advantages
The main advantages include:
- minimum environmental waste due to low solvent content (0.5-2%);
- minimal paint loss due to closed circuit of paint material (99.9% paint yield);
- minimum emissions and minimum solid and waste water;
- high corrosion resistance of the coating (approximately 25μm/1,000 hours in salt chamber);
- high adhesion and mechanical resistance of the coating;
- uniform coating thickness across the entire surface including hard to reach areas and corner edges;
- automatic and objective thickness control and pH control;
- quick process (approximately 180s) and simple reproducibility;
- easy automation and process control;
- low workload and low demands on service personnel;
- the possibility of top coating with different lacquers; and
- safety - no fire or explosion precautions or special precautions.

Electrophoretic cells types:
- tubular cells d80mm;
- tubular cells d65mm;
- flat cell width 850 mm; and
- semicular cell of width of 550mm.
