Haver & Boecker Donates Particle Size Analyser For MFN's Training Centre In Germany

Photo Optical Particle Size measuring devices by HAVER & BOECKER have been developed for particle size and particle shape analysis of dry and non-agglomerating particles in measuring ranges from 0.010 mm up to 400 mm.

MFN has training centres in 3 different countries and over 30 trainers worldwide who offer shot peening training in 8 languages. The organization always tries to introduce the latest technologies in the field of shot peening in its training presentations. As much as possible, MFN makes a great effort to cover not only the theoretical side, but also to introduce the practical process. However, certain equipment is sometimes just too cost intensive to use only for demonstration purposes. MFN has been very fortunate to get support from Haver & Boecker, whichdonated a Photo Optical Particle Size Analyzer for the MFN training centre in Altena, Germany.

Photo Optical Particle Size Analysis by HAVER & BOECKER
The particles are scanned between a single high-resolution digital line-camera and an LED-light source in a free falling system. The particle dimensions are immediately analyzed by a special software. The HAVER CPA software adds up to 28,000 scanned lines per second to an endless data file. The shadow-projections of the particles are evaluated simultaneously to the measurement process. This HAVER REAL TIME technology in combination with the single camera-technology guarantees that each particle is scanned and the result is recorded in the particle size and shape analysis. The HAVER CPA systems can be used in a laboratory, in a pilot plant station or as the "core" of an online measurement process. The user-friendly HAVER CPA SOFTWARE works under the current Windows operating systems and is prepared for an online connection to a PLC system.


The equipment is an economical state of the art unit for particle size and shape analysis in a measuring range from 34 µm up to 25 mm. The device is the newest member of Photo Optical Particle Size Analysis units. This instrument has been designed and developed from the ground up for daily operation in a laboratory. The HAVER CPA 2-1 is equipped with the proven and user-friendly HAVER CPA software, which works under the current Windows operating systems. Thanks to the HAVER REAL TIME technology, the HAVER CPA 2-1 can also be utilized as a particle counting device. The HAVER CPA 2-1 replaces the very successful HAVER CPA ECO LED. The application of the latest technology resulted in a highly cost-effective unit.
