Gentle transportation for sensitive components: POLY-NET® Spacer Grids For Load Carriers
Gentle transportation of components with a sensitive surface is a crucial element of quality management. POLY-NET® spacer grids are predestined for this task. They ensure optimum protection during transport, thus making a vital contribution towards avoiding costly product complaints. Besides high functionality and cost-efficiency, they also score in terms of simple handling and maximised eco-compatibility.
Machine and vehicle parts are manufactured with absolute precision. Even the smallest scratches may impair their functioning, and lead to expensive complaints. In order to avoid this, a comprehensive quality management system should always incorporate transportation protection as well for components with a sensitive surface. After all, what’s the point of having a meticulously monitored production operation if the sensitive goods involved are damaged during subsequent transport? As a state-of-the-art solution, POLY-NET® spacer grids for load carriers are an obvious choice. They constitute an intelligent alternative to conventional packaging solutions like cardboard or paper inserts, which involve substantial disadvantages.
Space-Saving, Resistant and Technically Superior
POLY-NET® spacer grids are soft, flat grids made of eco-friendly polyethylene, which are placed on pallets or in transport containers between the workpieces, and prevent the parts concerned from touching each other. The surfaces of the machine and vehicle components are thus reliably protected against scratches and similar damage. The workpieces can be placed one on top of another in a minimised space configuration, so that the transportation and storage space available can be used to optimum effect. By virtue of their high level of resistance to mechanical stresses, and to the oils, greases and liquids customarily encountered, POLY-NET® spacer grids can be re-used several times, thus offering considerable technical and commercial advantages in comparison to cardboard. To give just one example: when metal parts are dispatched overseas, a particularly large amount of corrosion-proofing agent has to be applied. If cardboard is used as protection during transport, the oils and greases employed will result in the board sections concerned being softened, with concomitant problems when it comes to disposal. In addition, cardboard also tends to bond moisture from the air in the room, thus increasing the risk of corrosion. Problems of this kind can be reliably avoided with this innovative new product. Last but not least, discarded spacer grids can be recycled without any problems – an important contribution to resource-economy.
POLY-NET® spacer grids are available in different thicknesses and mesh sizes, and are supplied both as roll goods and as cut-to-size sheets (e.g. for pallets). On request, the spacer grids can be provided with customised embossing (logos, names, identifiers).
We show our products on the trade fair O&S in Stuttgart, 08.06.–10.06.2010 in hall 5, booth E45.
