Following a 2011 successful edition, the world’s leading biennial congress on automotive body finishing since 1964, SURCAR, will take place again this year in the heart of Cannes! Held every other year, it brings together an international audience of 300+ decision-makers and experts in automotive body finishing from over 25 countries.

Like all automotive industry sectors, body finishing must improve in efficiency and answer growing environmental and innovation challenges. The industry is evolving at significantly different places throughout the world - the gap between different markets has never been wider. Environmental sustainability, regulation, increasingly lighter vehicles, multi-material body parts: these are only a few of the numerous challenges faced today. The world of paint will have to come up with technical and economic solutions to tackle these issues, with tailored approaches for each region. In a nutshell, SURCAR 2013 will have to answer these questions: in ten years’ time, what will paintshops look like? Where will they be located? Which vehicles will they paint?

These 2-days of conferences (carefully selected by an International Committee) will therefore gather high-level international experts, some of whom are first-time speakers, to discuss and gain insight on a global vision at this renowned conference with speakers coming from all around the globe (USA, Korea, China, Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland…). Three main themes will be studied: new developments in surface technologies and equipment, worldwide paint finish and trends as well as regulations & legislations from different continents & countries.

It is also a unique occasion for car manufacturers, suppliers of surface treatments, sealants and paints as well as equipment and application facilities manufacturers to network and benefit from great business opportunities around:

The SURCAR awards’ ceremony on June 11th just before the Gala dinner: at the end of the two-day conference, the SURCAR Technical Board will reward the best presentations and present three prizes: the Award for Innovation, the Award for Technique, and the Jury’s Award
