From 25 to 27 June 2026, the International MFN Shot Peening & Flap Peening Workshop was successfully held at Shanghai Peentech, bringing together nearly 100 participants for three days of technical training, practical demonstrations, and industry exchange.
The organizers would like to thank Shanghai Peentech for sponsoring the venue, meals, coffee breaks, and event materials, and Peencenter for the professional organization, exhibitor coordination, and exhibition setup.
The programme was delivered in both Chinese and English, enabling effective communication with international participants and ensuring a high-quality learning experience across language groups. This bilingual format further strengthened MFN’s ability to provide professional training for a global audience.
The technical programme covered shot peening fundamentals, process control, intensity and coverage evaluation, quality assurance, and advanced surface technologies. The third day focused on flap peening, complemented by evening hands-on machine training sessions.
Participants came from seven countries, highlighting strong international interest in MFN training programmes. The Chinese students came from leading aviation and aerospace organizations such as Shanghai Aircraft Corporation, Xi'an Aircraft Corporation, Harbin Aircraft Corporation, PMA Aviation, Hyatech, Xizi Aerospace, TAECO, Pratt & Whitney, PLA No.5701 Factory, Hangda Aviation, Xiangyang Aviation, HAITE, AVIC SAC Commercial Aircraft, and Xirui Aviation.
The workshop was supported by experienced trainers including Auditor Feng Li, Prof. Zan, Prof. Liu, Aaron Linn, Leo Ge, and Cindy Zhou, who combined theory with practical industrial experience.
A technology exhibition with 11 booths showcased the latest developments in peening media, equipment, testing systems, and advanced technologies such as laser and ultrasonic peening.
The event once again demonstrated the importance of international cooperation and technical training in advancing surface enhancement technologies.
The next International MFN workshop and Trade Show in China will be held at Kunsan Carthing from 21–23 April 2027. MFN warmly welcomes all industry professionals to join and participate in next year’s event.
